In the field of form metrology, Mahr equipment is the benchmark for accuracy, and as the market leader Mahr sets the standard for tactile form measurement for many customers. With regard to our surface metrology, Mahr has now  also perfected the widely used stylus method.

So what would be more obvious than also to record and document roughness parameters such as Ra and Rz when testing your workpieces with a MarForm measuring instrument?

As a specialist in inductive probes, Mahr has combined the advantages of the universal, motorized T7W form probe with the precision of the PHT 6-350 roughness probe. Form and roughness probes become as one. On the MarForm MMQ 200 and MMQ 400 the right probe for the measuring task is automatically moved into the correct measuring position. You have the option of either skidless tracing using the T7W probe or skidded tracing using the PHT probe.

Combine the checking of form and position tolerances with the monitoring of roughness parameters. Document typical roughness parameters such as Ra and Rz while form testing your workpieces with a MarForm MMQ 200 or MMQ 400, without having to reclamp the workpiece at a different measuring station. This is achieved by a motorized, program-controlled changeover between the form probe with ruby ball and the PHT 6-350 roughness probe or T7W diamond probe tip. No operator intervention is required, and the probe is moved automatically from vertical contact to a horizontal position. This is done using the motorized rotational axis of the T7W form probe, which positions the probe in 1° increments.
